Principally Cabernet Sauvignon with a small percentage of Cabernet Franc in the blend, the wine is produced from the Haras de Pirque vineyards in the Maipo Valley. The wine aims at recounting the character and personality of this territory through a fascinating wine with spicy and herbaceous notes sustained by an exceptional freshness, typical of its zone of production.
The 2016 vintage at Haras de Pirque was characterized by a cool climate with light rainfall. This weather pattern guaranteed a slow and gradual ripening of the grapes, which developed excellent aromas and freshness. The Cabernet Sauvignon harvest took place in two distinct phases: first, in April, in the highest, mountain side vineyards and then towards the end of the same month in the lower‐lying vineyards towards the valley floor. The Cabernet Franc was picked towards the end of the month of April.
The various vineyard parcels of Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc was fermented separately either in stainless steel tanks or in French oak fermenters. The fermentation was preceded by cold maceration of the juice on its skins which lasted from three to five days and was aimed at fully bringing out the aromatic potential of the crop. The wine then went into 60 gallon oak barrels, where it aged on its lees for a further twelve months.

Hussonet shows an intense ruby red color. The nose offers notes of chocolate along with the characteristic aromas of rosemary and bay leaf which distinguish the territory where the grapes are grown. The palate is both concentrated and elegant with supple and persistent tannins, the expression of the quality potential of the Cabernets of Haras de Pirque.
Cabernet Sauvignon
Hussonet is produced with Cabernet Sauvignon grown in Haras de Pirque’s vineyards in the Maipo Valley. This wine is a fascinating expression of this characteristic territory offering herbaceous and spicy notes sustained by extraordinary freshness, typical of this terroir.
Haras de Pirque’s 2019 vintage expresses extraordinary varietal characteristics due to favorable cool spring weather and a relatively hot summer that brought the grapes to optimal ripeness. Temperature swings from January through April imparted freshness and elegance.
The different vineyard parcels of Cabernet Sauvignon were fermented separately both in stainless steel vats and French oak. Cold maceration was performed over a 3 to 5 day period to enhance aromatic compounds. Once alcoholic fermentation was complete, the wine was transferred to barriques where it aged for 12 months.

Hussonet is an intense red color. On the nose, notes of cinnamon, bay leaves and mint merge with herbaceous sensations and toasted notes that express Maipo Valley’s fresh character. The palate is soft with pleasant tannins that offer aromas of red fruit and chocolate.

Mostly Cabernet Sauvignon with a small percentage of Carménère, Hussonet is produced from the Haras de Pirque vineyards in the Mapo Valley. This wine aims at narrating the character and personality of this territory thorugh a fascinating wine with spicy and herbaceous notes sustained by an exceptional freshness, typical of its zone of production.
The 2018 will be remebered at Haras de Pirque as a great vintage. The climate, tendentially cool, has allowed to enhance the aromas and flavors of the Maipo Valley grapes. The Caberent Sauvignon harvest took place in two separate moments: in early April in the case of the high-lying vineyards while the valley floor plots were picked at the end of the same month. The Carménère, a late ripening grape variety, was picked in mid-May instead.
The various vineyard parcels of Cabernet Sauvignon and Carménère were fermented separately, respectively in stainless steel tanks or in French oak casks. The cold, pre-fermentation maceration lasted from three to five days and aimed at fully bringing out the aromatic componenets of the grapes. After the fermentation, which utilized solely spontaneous yeasts, the wine went into barrique where it aged for a period of twelve months.
